Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi

On Sarat's recommendation I just added the movie to my queue. Not because the heroine is really "hot" but the other reasons Sarat cited for watching the movie. A part of me resents renting from Netflix. All the hype about unlimited movies and then they throttle you just because you rent more from them, I cant stand companies cheating the consumer with their marketing gimmicks. That will just make the list of companies I hate endless., wont it?

The Far Pavillions

A great read but again a 1000 pages thick. It is well written but I do have objections to the author getting confused between the himalays and jaipur. The hawa mahal magically is a part of Gulkote which is located in the Dur Khaima (Himalayas). A very interesting story and the author seems to undersatnd the indian people well and has potrayed the characters interestingly. It is a great movie as well.

A Suitable Boy

It is such a wonderful book and after having read the 1399 page monster I am at it again. I think Vikram Seth's writes beautifully. The book takes you to the India of 1950's. The characters are so well created that you feel their emotions as your own. The book takes you on a 18 month journey through the lives of Mehra family, Chatterji family, Nawab family and the Kapoor Family.

The Long List

I have a long list of books I plan to read over the next few months.

1. Two Lives.
2. Ice Candy Man.
3. Short Stories by Ruskin Bond.
4. R.K.Narayan.
5. MASH (finish it)
6. The World is Flat.
